Labor of Love Golf Tournament 2009

Event location:  Miami Beach, Florida
Event date and time: 2/28/2009 12:00:00 PM
This year the Labor of Love Golf Tournament was held at the Diplomat Golf Course in Miami Beach Florida.  As always, we had a great turn out and were supported by generous sponsors.  All welcome and awards receptions were held at the beautiful Fontainbleau Resort.  Thanks to everyone who supported us this year.  Congratulations to you all for raising an outstanding $212,000 to help find a cure for diabetes!
Everyone gathered at 11:00 am at the course for a barbecue and to hear a few remarks from BCTD President Mark H. Ayers.  The Tournament had a shotgun start at 12 noon at the Diplomat Golf Course. Three winning teams were awarded Waterford Crystal, donated by Harbough Hotels.  At the awards reception Harrah's Hotels explained their wonderful donation program in which they give $1 for every night a union members stays in their hotels.  This year it came out to a grand total of $80,000.

All in all the event was a great success.
